Leonard Nance Jr. was born in Shelbyville, Tennessee on October 23, 1927. He is much loved and will always be remembered by all his friends and family.Mr. Leonard D. Nance, Jr. Professional Engineer 10/23/1927 - 08/21/2009 Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Friday, August 21, 2009, Mr. Leonard D. Nance, Jr., 81, husband of Charlotte N. Nance. Mr. Nance was a native of Shelbyville, TN and had resided in Augusta since 1964. He was a veteran in the Army Air Corps during WWII. Mr. Nance was a graduate of Auburn University and the Professional Civil Engineer for Columbia and Edgefield Counties, acting as the County Engineer. He was the Head Engineer for Florida DOT and he was a license engineer in six states. Several of his accomplishments were that he built a racecar and raced it and built an ultra light. He was also a sailor and a member of the Augusta Sailing Club. Mr. Nance gave his children the tools and abilities they needed to take care of themselves. Family members in addition to his wife include his son: Leonard Nance III (Susan) of Germany; daughters: Lisa Nance Lovett(Ken Sharp) of Martinez, Jessica Nance of Atlanta, Stacy Mara Nance(Jerry Justice) of Augusta, Victoria Nance(Ray Cintron) of Port Orange, FL; brothers: Edwin Nance of Lakeland, FL, Kenneth Nance of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; 4 grandchildren: Denio Hernandez Nance, Ray Cintron Nance, Laura Lynn Marshall, Charlotte Caroline Tom; and 2 great-grandchildren: Ansley and Jonathan Marshall

i am writing this for my dad harry. to my big brother i always admired you when we were younger. you always had my back. as we got older i was so extremly proud of all your accomplishments in life. you taught your children how to prosper in life and always uplifted our spirits with your humor. it broke my heart to hear that you passed. i dont cry very often but i lost my big brother and best buddy. but i am happy to know we will see you one day in heaven. and you are with mother and dad love you very much your baby brother harry

uncle len, i know we did not see each other often but when we did you left a lasting impression on me. i did not realize the extent of all your accomplishments in life. i know you did alot. but one thing that wasnt metioned is your love of painting. you had a talent in art. my dad has one of your paintings and i would look at it when i was younger and think one day i will look like that naked lady. i want to know is who was the model? i will ask you when i get in heaven. you were my favorite uncle because of your love for us kids growing up and teasing us. all your kids grew up to be execeptional people and that is all because of you. you took the time and love to teach them life skills. i will love and miss you love your neice jacque /
